Feeling sad or gloomy can happen to anyone but when it beings to affect our daily lives than it is something to be concerned about.

An article by NIH Senior Health points out that while depression is common amongst seniors it is not a natural part of the aging process. The loss of a loved one or an serious illness can cause severe depression and should not be ignored. However, seniors are less likely to show signs of depression because they may not want to burden those around them.
